<x-charset iso-8859-1>>>From the department of hen's teeth: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=602060639<< My 2¢: while it's very nice looking this isn't what I would call a reproduction of the Abarth Type 3 muffler. Flat Four's Abarth reproductions are much more accurate (and reasonably priced too). I used to have a real one, and the differences include: • stiffening ridges stamped into the circumference of the muffler at approx. 6 in. from either end • tailpipe tubes shaped differently • black crinkle-finish paint with chrome exhaust tips • not stamped with the misspelled word "Volkswagon" (Abarths originally had a paper label) The one I had was an early one and so it had built-in heat exchangers. Just for price comparison: I traded it (a rusty used Abarth with badly damaged exhaust tips) to a Type 3 collector about eight years ago for the equivalent of about $500 in NOS parts. So, a real one in good condition would probably be worth at least what they're selling the "repro" for. I think ISP should get real and stop calling this an Abarth repro. Even Flat Four calls theirs "Abarth-style" and in their case it's an accurate statement.
