<x-charset iso-8859-1>FM came out in 1942, the early band, the late band I believe in 46. I dont know when the first CAR FM radio came out bu tit was no doubt in the early 50's. There were many FM converters around back then and I know for a fact that Blaupunkt had a variety of FM 6V or universal 6/12 radios avail and they were very high performance sets for their day.
