[T3] Crankcase Breather

<x-charset iso-8859-1>With all the recent talk of clogged breathers I decided to pull the plastic
cap off mine to see what was what. I found that I have no spring as shown in
the manual! However the washer inside is a very tight fit- it has three
tangs evenly spaced around its circumference which jam it in the breather
neck. Did the later breathers need springs? If so what for and do I need to
find a replacement? Was it meant to be some sort of pressure relief valve,
and if so wouldn't the washer need to be free moving?
Sorry for all the Q's, the breather seems clear enough but I thought I'd
check anyway.

My new Uni-syn arrived courtesy of Jim, I've just checked my carbs and they
were not too far off- Its a lot nicer to use than the manometer I bodged out
of spray can lids and PVC hose! I thoroughly recommend them to anyone with
twin-carbs.
He also sent me some new HT wire and first impressions are that the engine
is running smoother with it. Hope it lasts.
