<x-charset ISO-8859-1>I have two Type 34 Ghias, one 23-window bus, a 1974 Super Beetle, a 1952 Zwitter. a 1955 Oval window, a 1957 Oval window, a 1954 on a 1956 pan, a 1949 Hebmüller, a 1967-68? bus, and a 1971 work bus stored in my shop. My landlady said that I was not permitted to work on cars, only to store them there. I say, No! I have the right to work on them also. She says that if we must work on them, we'll hafta find another building. So, I have done just that and for $90/month less than what I was paying. Spent the last three days looking at space. Found space yesterday, perhaps a little larger, in a decent section of town. Now, all we have to do is move everything by Tuesday, the effective date of the move. We have to move all of the cars, some of which are not running, three engines, one large air compressor, beaceaup tools and engine stands, plus many items special interest such as an electric scooter. This time we will have it spelled out in the lease exactly what we are allowed to do. Our company's name "Garies Volkswagens" even implies what we do, and I don't know how my current landlady could screw that up. But she did. Meanwhile, I got two keys made up by Steve Sandlin to fit the 1971 bus. I have put the other two keys on hold until we get moved. I tried to buy a rearview mirror for the 1971 bus, but it won't be ready until Monday. I got the order in for beaceaup seals and American seal trim in two batches, the big one and the small one. These parts all fit the 1956 on a 1954 Pan. Also, for the 1956 on a 1954 pan I ordered a swamp cooler, which is to be delivered as soon as my check clears. Naturally, the 1952 Zwitter, which was being handled by the new hand, didn't make the cut. It's still minus the front beam, which we'll hafta fix before moving. It's also missing an engine, a gas tank, and the rear deck lid. The Hebmüller is all in pieces and is in the process of being welded up. It is missing the engine, with which we are still struggling with trying to get some engine parts I just made the decision that we are going to spring for pistons and cylinders from a major player for $550 + shipping. I also have the new convertible top bows stored at Winslow's Trim Shop, and we are going to hafta get them installed before long. The 1964 Type 34 needs work in that it wont start. I don't know what's wrong with it. I just installed a new leather steering wheel on it. The 1965 Type 34 is awaiting paint and restoration. Oh, yes. I own a 1973 Thing, a Type 3 pickup (in Houston), a 1999 New Beetle, and a down payment on a 2003 New Beetle convertible. ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org </x-charset>
