Re: [T3] Late model Rust Repair

<x-charset iso-8859-1>The earlier reinforcement piece doesn't have the large drain holes; I don't
know if they are worse or better. Both types rust badly.

I've done three sides of this repair (2 cars!) so far and have another 3 to
do, by which time my green one will probably also need it. The big
difficulty for a DIY invisible repair (on basic cars that don't have the
inner lining on the side panel) is forming the rectangular pressings between
the seal flange and the 'tumblehome' to the luggage compartment floor. I
remove the outer reinforcement and use the front opposite section from a
scrap Type 3 front end to make a near identical section to the rusty one.
It's takes a while, but looks good when done, and it's very difficult to
tell from the original.

Next one I do, I'll take a set of photos and do a webpage. Oh, promises,
promises!
