Well, here's the sad story: The oil was much too full. It's completely beyond my understanding how I did something so dumb. When I changed the oil, I had the sump plate off and the strainer out. then I measured 2.5 liters of oil with a measuring jug. I simply don't understand how it could have been so much over. Anyway, I seem to have blown the main seal. Oil drips out whenever the engine is running. I'm really pissed off about this. I suppose it's the excuse I've been looking for to remove the engine and fix it up properly.
