Another idea, and one I'm going to use is a motorcycle lift. My renter has one here at the house that's capable of lifting his 750-lb Harley about 20 inches or so off the ground and is only about 2 1/2 inches when lowered. It's made by Larin, who makes some pretty good, low-priced shop equipment like hoists and engine stands. I think you can get their stuff at BJ's or Sam's club. This is what all the dealerships that I have worked at, and myself use for dropping the engine. They go about 30" high, and mine drops down to only about 2" off the floor. This allows you to drop the engine down out of the car, roll it out, and then jack it back up to workbench height. They only have about 500 lbs capacity but that is plenty for our use. -- Russ Wolfe '66 FB MT (It drove) '71 FB AT '65 Bug (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
