I'm willing to bet money that the two snowed passes on 299 were Buckhorn 
Summit (first one past Redding) and Oregon Mountain (the next one, just 
past Weaverville).  I should know; I've spent more time tromping around
in that specific part of the state than anywhere else (aside from the 
town I grew up in/still live in).

It's a pretty nice area, I'd love to live there .. but there's not much
work up there. =I
