Returning to an old thread, the weather has finally cleared up enough for me
to test the new carb setup and adjustment a bit more. Once again, it started
out with a fairly fast idle while the chokes were closed, and then slowed
down nicely when they opened. Then, I put the car in gear, both reverse and
drive, and it didn't stall :~)

In fact, it seemed there was a much smaller drop in idle speed than there
used to be, perhaps indicating that the old carbs were tuned to idle too
rich too.

So, I think that, at least for idling, it appears to be bang on. The next
step is to take it for a drive, but for that I really do need to wait till I
have an assistant, in case I have to push it home ;~)
