I guess your real test would be to put it in gear and see if it stalls. Returning to an old thread, the weather has finally cleared up enough for me to test the new carb setup and adjustment a bit more. Once again, it started out with a fairly fast idle while the chokes were closed, and then slowed down nicely when they opened. Then, I put the car in gear, both reverse and drive, and it didn't stall :~) In fact, it seemed there was a much smaller drop in idle speed than there used to be, perhaps indicating that the old carbs were tuned to idle too rich too. So, I think that, at least for idling, it appears to be bang on. The next step is to take it for a drive, but for that I really do need to wait till I have an assistant, in case I have to push it home ;~) Daniel Baum 1969 Type 34 automatic http://www.qldesign.com/type34 > Daniel wrote: > >Is it worth playing about any more to get 980-990 down to 950, or am I close > >enough? > > > Bob 65 Notch S w/ Sunroof > 69 Square AT-the baby suburban > > ------------------------------------------------ > To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> > For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
