Two part (catalyzed paints..I think in England they refer to them as "two pack") paints have isocynates in the hardeners. You MUST use supplied fresh air mask/hood breathing systems if you at all value your lungs. Standard respirators will not be good enough! Enamels are fine paints, its just that the catalyzed paints will last a lot longer and they dry many times faster. Even in dry climates enamels take a long time to dry since they dry by evaporation (the two part catalyzed paints dry by chemical reaction). Its not uncommon for it to take many months for an enamel paint to fully cure.
