The cables that came with my car were toast. They had straight ends. I have
no idea whether they are the original ones that the car came with or whether
they were replaced some time during the car's lifetime. The distributor end
connectors are crimped on, and the spark plug end connectors do unscrew.

They did work, despite being burned and cracked, and I kept them, in case
they have the legendary OE connectors that you say can't be replaced.
Although I made one or two bad decisions when I first got the car, I have
given up throwing things away, "just in case" I also have another set of
cables which came in a box of junk with the car. They are the same as the
other set but appear to be in better condition.  I couldn't verify that they
are usable, so I didn't use them. I am currently using a set of non-stock
cables that I bought from aircooled.net (they're great).
