>It's possible that very early type 3s came with 5.60s on 4" rims, but at least by 66 all the type 3 rims were 4.5s. > The early rims are 4.5 J x 15. Tire info from my '61 shop book (Supplement 3, dated 8.65): Notchback - 6.00-15L (4PR) Squareback - 6.00-15L 6PR T-34 - 6.00 S 15 L (also reinforced because of "the high speeds of the Karmann Ghia") My '63 Squareback has the original (AFAIK) whitewall Continental spare, it says 6.00-15L. No 6PR marking, hmmmm. Maybe something to do with the whitewall? I have photos of some non-original Continentals, they say 6.00x15 4L. -- Everett '63 311, '63 361, nice '63 343 wanted everettb@thesamba.com http://www.thesamba.com ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
