Yes, it seems like it'll adjust and work for a bit, but it acts as though the cable were "stretching." I originally thought the flywheel might be working loose from the dowels on the crank. However, after looking @ the Bentley's manual last night, I saw the mounting bracket for the swing-axle right above the fan & thought that maybe the engine is not being supported correctly and this could change the geometry of things. Does the clutch cable adustment seem to be changing? If so, check the TO bearing cross shaft arms and the pedal shaft to see if anything is bending or breaking. >This is a later model I.R.S. engine in a swing-axle 68. > My question is, >does the absence of the mounting bracket located above >the fan possibly cause a problem? No, but have you installed the correct PP for the 68 TO bearing? This bearing needs a PP with the center ring in it. The later (71-73) PP does not have this. ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
