Are you sure about this? All my 71s have had a single hole. The late Blaupunkt 
installation kit has a special plastic speaker tray that sticks up into this 
space, which would be impossible with the double-D.

Also in 71 they introduced the wire bail that holds the speaker in place. 
Before that you used 2 screws.
