Its VERY common to have to tweak the brackets when installing them, especially when using brackets that didnt originally come with the car... they can be the correct ones but need *adjustments* Keith Keith Park Top Notch Restorations topnotch@nycap.rr.com 71 Squareback 65 Notchback 65 Squareback 75 Opel 87 Golf 88 Rx7 10th Anniversary ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Hornback" <dhornback@scif.com> To: "Type 3 Mailing List" <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Tuesday, December 10, 2002 1:31 PM Subject: [T3] Bracket to bumper alignment problem. I was trying to install my front bumper lastnite and I was not able to align the front brackets to holes on the bumper. These are the orig. brackets and bumper from the car and I am sure they are the front brackets and front bumper. I have already installed my rear bumper and did not have a problem whatsoever. The brackets seem pretty straight, but could it be the bumper and or brackets are warped? Anyone have any ideas why this may be? Where can I find the part #'s on these brackets? And does anyone know what they would be for a 1965 Type 3.
