<x-charset iso-8859-1>Are you SURE they are genuine VW? do they have VW cast into them? most original heads are gone by now... BUT... if your running springs that are too stiff that could pound in the seats too. Stock engine should run stock springs, you wont gain anything from the stiffer ones but perhaps a wee bit of high end RPM. Do this: Call Berg Tech line... hopefully youll get Clyde and tell him about the genuine VW parts your using and the problems your having... make it sound like you want to buy some of their stuff and they'll keep talking :) But see what their recommendations are, if theyve had any problems with VW heads and the stiff springs and if the Bugpak springs are perhaps just too stiff. Lap the cylinders in... coarse valve grinding compound at first then the fine stuff, and providing your studs are secure your blowby problem will go away. Make sure you get all the carbon off the sealing surface on the cylinders though. Your lower end should be fine... get a head, get those springs out of there and you should be fine.
