[T3] poor emissions
<x-flowed>well, i had my emissions tested today for the first time. i was close, but
did not pass, so i need some advice as what i could do to get the ol car
running better.
first off, i need to state that the car runs pretty well. she is an all
stock 1970 fastback. i performed a lot of maintenance when i got her. like,
cap, rotor, fuel filter, valves adjusted, timed to top dead center. but i
have not done anything for like 4-6 months. i thought that the idle was set
to ~850, but the machine my poor car was wired too said ~725-750. i'm not
sure of the dwell.
now for the problems (minor), it idles very rough when first started (jim
instructed me at the invasion to clean the aux air regulator, which i still
have not had time to do), sometimes stumbles on acceleration, seems to not
have a lot of power, but i don't have much to compare that too. and of
course it failed emissions.
and finally for the emission info, if that matters to anyone.
i failed the co% only.
standard me
5.00 6.2 at idle
5.00 8.53 at 2500 rpm
if anyone has any ideas to help they would be much appreciated. i am not
below underhanded things either (i was told to put rubbing alcohol in to
clean the emissions once)
thanks
c
