This is also used in gunsmithing, on parts such as hammers, or whatever else one can afford to get it done to. The likely hood of fatigue part failure due to an imperfection in the molecule arrangement in the metal is highly reduced by this process. It simply reduces the chace that a particular point is more liekly to fail then any other, trying to eliminate weak chain links... Can't hurt, but wouldn't be a good subsititute to superior castings and machining. Al, with bad heads (tightening valves on my 66 dlx, and bad rings on my 72 fasty...hmmmph, playing with motor(s) time!)
