I think the type 3 gods were looking after me beacause even though work made me miss Parma last week and Familienfest this week, they were keeping me safe from long travels. I just took the head out of my car today to inpect the cause of the backfiring and missing, I noticed a valve that sometimes stayed suck open intermittantly. As I inspected the head I noticed that the # 3 Cylinder exhaust valve was sticking right out with the valve seat not sitting in it's hole. Even though the head was used at high speeds (90mph) alot, there was no indication of overheating, no oil was burnt on it and retained its silvery color. Remember, I told you guys that the casting was beautiful and outstanding but the machining from MOFOCO had much to be desired, well the bad machining just bit me in the butt. I will send the head to be rewelded at a reputable place that does head rebuilds to see how long a rebuid lasts , I have heard many stories on rebuild/rewelded heads, I will find out first hand and will give a report. If this head is again damaged , I will replace the pair with CB brand to find out how they hold up and report on them too. I will send the head to Johnson's Buggy Machine in Lakeside as recommended by FiberTech. These are both local places.
