I got this all squared away tonight (no pun intended, really). As Jim suggested, it's best to slide the large steel spacer in the seal before sliding on the cover. It turns out I was 4 for 4 at folding the inner seal lip up out of the way. I topped off the tranny and raced around the neighborhood (@ 11pm sorry neighbors). Yeehaa, Parma or bust!
