How can you be sure it was not a 69? Now that I think of it there area VERY few differences. The VIN would tell of course, but there are only 2 other differences that I can think of: 1) 69s got a bunch of extra ground wires. 2) 68s came with a thumb notch under the fuel filler flap, rather than the internal release.
