<x-charset iso-8859-1>No good!  You want 12-14psi at idle on a new engine with 30wt... higher with
10W40. and NO FLIKERING oil light... others may disagree with me but think
of it this way... could VW have sold these cars new if the oil lights
flickered??

38-41 psi at 70MPH with a new motor, on a hot day at temperature.  Your
gauge may be inaccurate but since your light is flickering it says that it
probably isnt.

Problem?  too thick a gasket on the oil pump cover or oil pump problems.
Case improperly line bored or needing it
Bad or improperly installed bearings
crank that is cut more than .010

also... you want to be breaking it in with no thicker than 20wt oil.
