Those are the right 2 wires, but you're right, they should both be hot as long as the key is ON or START. Check them at the relay end, then check them at the engine end with the brain disconnected (no load.) Any difference? The FI needs BOTH 16 and 24 to be supplied in order to work. > Just a side note: I noticed that the fuel pump relay clicks on and off at > regular intervals when I'm starting, and it also goes on full time when I > put the auto shifter in reverse. Is this normal? Abnormal. Do the backup lights come on in R? I don't remember if the backup light wires come anywhere close to the FI power wires, but I suspect that this is just a red herring due to something that got vibrated into the other state when you happened to shift gears. I would concentrate on the relay and the 2 power wires. Make sure that you're actually looking at the ends of the right 2 wires and that power is getting into them okay at the relay end. It might just be a relay problem, but I think there's actually just one set of contacts in that relay. There could still be an ohmic connection inside it, however. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
