I would like a little advice from the list regarding a 350 mile
round trip I'm planning for Friday. I believe I've had a leaky main
seal for the last 3,000 miles. Oil appears to be coming from between
the engine to tranny seam. There leak has been consistent, usually
marking a small spot on the drive. The clutch has been "shuddering"
for a long time too.
Am I risking a catastrophic failure? I'm will be crossing the
Cascade range to Bend in eastern Oregon, not a small feat. I'm
transporting a large test rig on business, so I could always rent a
truck, but I'm stubborn.
I changed the oil tonight, and will adjust the valves and check
timing/carbs tomorrow after work. What else?
