I've finished smoothing (I *hope*!) the outside of one of my Volksmags, and I've moved on to polishing it. For comparison, you can see this picture: http://www.dnai.com/~gmerritt/wheel_update.jpg Clockwise from top, there's an untouched wheel, a partially-smoothed wheel, and smoothed-and-partially-polished wheel. Not too shabby, eh? You can see the reflection of me taking the picture in the partially-polished wheel. :) So, I'm part way through with the Eastwood "tripoli" compound on the outer surface of this wheel. Once I finish that, it's the "white rouge" for the final polish. There's hope!
