<x-charset iso-8859-1>Okay, I have posted a lot related to my rough running lately, and I still need just a few hints (hey, I'm new to fuel injection). Okay here is the recap: '73 Square, FI, Manual. Plugs had been replaced right before I got it, fuel pump was 6 mo. old. New fuel filter and newly resealed tank. Plus a list member (thanks Robb) helped me turn down the fuel pressure to a "within acceptable" range. The problem: it runs great cold, not so great hot. When it gets really hot, it bucks and kicks at low RPM a lot. Give it more gas... problem goes away. It never really runs rough, it actually acts like it is not getting enough fuel. Here's the curve ball though. The plugs now have lots of carbon on them (black) and when it has been giving me trouble for a while I can smell gas. Smells unburned. I can't pinpoint it to be sure though, because if I just increase the RPM, the smell fades away. Gets real smelly at idle. I'm thinking it means one of two things: I'm still running way rich, or the fuel is vaporizing before getting into the cylinder (maybe that's why it only happens hot?). In either case I am really stuck on where to look/start. I am armed with my Bentley and a multimeter, but I can't find a good enough description in the book to give me an idea where to start... fuel, electrical, cooling? Come on Jim, Russ, someone? Thanks again all! BTW: I'll have pics of today's Bug-in @ Ennis, TX on the V3 website in just a bit. I'll post links. Bryan Castles Arlington, TX USA '64 Sunroof Beetle -GONE!
