<x-charset iso-8859-1>>The picture of the kit seems to show just one light. Did it come that way, or is only one pictured? > Yes, the early kit came with only one light. There were at least 2 styles of reverse light, the more desirable/valuable/earlier style light, has more of a lip over the top of it to shield the light from the sun. I've seen this exact setup on a few Bug and Type 3s, the light was almost always mounted on the left side, although whether it was actually mounted on the other side in RHD countries is unknown to me. There was also a reverse light setup that I have seen more on Buses where there was a bracket mounted near the transmission nosecone that closed a switch when you put it into reverse based on the position of the hockey stick/shift rod. The wiring for this setup up was coil -> inline fuse -> switch -> reverse light similar to the late 60s Type 3s. The reverse light was usually cut into the body above the left side taillight. It was stock on Ambulances. Everett Barnes http://www.thesamba.com ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
