The oil has a greater chance of leaking out faster, otherwise it would be 
better. The stuff that VW put in there doesn't look at all special. In the past, 
I've just used the same moly grease that I use on CV joints.

BTW, grease is just a mixture of oil and a compound chemically known as 
soap, so there is no inherent problem with adding in some additional oil.
