<x-charset iso-8859-1>> how can i remove a broken bolt or screw that goes on the bottom were you > screw the rear fender on a squareback? its next to the door > The only thing that I've managed to use to quickly remove a broken rusted screw is to clean the surface and weld a blob of metal with a mig, then use grips to turn it. The heat breaks the rust seal and the blob can be turned. However, these screws often have more rust on the inside, and if anything are better screwed in more! Try a small drill fairly centrally, then a bigger one almost the same size as the screw. With any luck, it will turn and disappear inside, and leave clean metal. If it doesn't unscrew (or screw in) you will have to do that to re-tap the hole anyway. Dave.
