the time has come, the walrus said... to replace the vacuum lines between my engine and auto trans. what's in place now : 2 short rubber lines from each intake manifold, each pair tees into another rubber line, which butts to a long metal cross-tube, which tees off to the rubber line to the tranny. Is this the OE setup? Well, whether it is or ain't, it looks crappy, and I want it gone. anything I ought keep in mind when renewing this? Is it just common sense, "keep it air-tight and it'll work"? Would I regret scrapping the metal cross-tube, and using "soft" lines throughout? I'm aiming for a system with fewer than 14 hose clamps, and less than 8' of tubing between tranny & manifold. Is this correct thinking? Thanks, --timmy '72 square '69 square AT Jax, FL PS - anybody going to be at Jacksonville Beach show this weekend? What about the Skyway Bridge run in Tampa next weekend? I'd love to buy a pint for any one of you. --t ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web! Visit http://www.vwtype3.org/list/
