<x-flowed>You say you sometimes wind up running on just 2 cylinders. Which cylinders do you lose? Is it always the same pair? You say a mechanic "repaired" some wiring between the trigger points and the ECU. What did he do, splice some wires with crimped connections? If they're not soldered (correctly) and insulated, those connections are "iffy" and can produce the intermittent problems you describe. Look at the trigger points. Make sure the little "room" inside the disrtibutor for the trigger points is clean. Clean your trigger points by dragging a piece of paper through them. Measure the resistance through the closed points. Should be pretty low. Look for any other bad grounds in the FI system. Especially the injector grounds, which can be problematic in 69s. Cylinder head temp sensor should read 3k-4k ohm when cold. When warmed up, resistance should drop to around 1k to 1.5k ohm. Air temp sensor resistance should be around 400 to 500 ohm when cold and drop to around 150 ohm when warmed up. -Mark Fuhriman _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe </x-flowed>
