Jim, what I use is a tape the is sold at camping stores for installing windows, roof vents,etc... its about the closest thing I found that resembles the "D19 tape" that is used on the hinge pillar. I buy a roll of it for about $5 and it lasts a long time( found other uses for it too). I hope this helps you out.
