hey kids, before i get started, here's the basics... -1970 -weber ICTs -bugcrap linkage -auto zone ~3psi electric pumper -new fuel hoses throughout i have a 1970 squareback that i haven't been driving much in the past. and recently i took it for a spin and it help up pretty good, but once i stopped somewhere it just did not what to start up. after getting a jump from a friend i drove it home and everything was hunky dorey. then i realize the next day that gas (ack!) was leaking from the back. i couldn't tell from where, as it seems all the hoses were okay. i clipped off the fuel hose to be sure and the next day it had stopped leaking. so, a week or so later i pop in a charged battery and after a little coaxing it starts up. i drive it up my block and back and it runs a little funny, but not too bad. oil light was coming on at low rpm. then i look and from my driveway, to about 3 houses down where i turned around there is a huge track of gas/oil. (double ack!) so i look back and it seems to be shooting out of the crankcase ventilation hose, that after the Fi removal i had just routed down to the rear, since i hadn't forseen gas pouring out if it. anyway, anybody have any idea as to what's going on? i hadn't blocked off that little device that sits next to the dizzy, so i thought that might be the culprit. it's all just strange because i drove the car for thousands of miles like that and only recently when i've driven like 20 miles in the last 6 months has anything happened. anyway, your help is appreciated. i'm trying to sell this car but i refuse to let it go at some junker price. i was trying to get like $1700 before i knew of this problem and it is way nicer than even that. thanks andrew =================================================================== EASY and FREE access to your email anywhere: http://Mailreader.com/ =================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
