Herman<< Interesting, I hadn't known that any Type 34s had these cables, but there it is in the parts list. Most Type 34s didn't have them, only models from 67-69. 62 models had a manual seat release on the side of the seat near the top; models from 63-66 had a manual release knob near the point where the seat back pivots. It's strange that Karmann introduced this feature to the Ghia just as it was being eliminated in the Notchback/Fastback/Squareback.
