Well, I've been having this trouble with my engine ever since I fixed it (case savers) - it runs fine at low rpm's but above 2500 it just "chokes" on me. If I put my foot down it chokes, if I pump it it goes a little better - there is some nice pull in the beginning of the pedal stroke. It sort of sputters - pulls and then doesn't pullú pulls and then doesn't pull I have carbs both new and matched, adjusted linkage with a flow meter, idling, mixture I even checked accelerator pump on both is equal and within spec. I've put in new points, condenser, spark plugs (gaped), done valves, set ignition timing , points gap, changed dist. cap , all to no avail. It feels like the power is there it just gets cut off, pumping the gas pedal helps and so does giving very little gas (flooding ?) I pulled the plugs and got good spark on all of them, and good color. Checked compression and I have 120-130 on all of the cylinders. I'm thinking either fuel or spark, could it be the ignition advance ? - on a "suck and hold test " it works, though it seems to need quite a lot of vacuum. Any ideas what could be wrong ?
