Jumping out of gear is a sign of wear in the shift forks, and sliding gears. I have rebuilt probably over 200 of these trannies in my career as a VW mechanic. They won't heal themselves. The bad coupling may have started the problem and caused wear to the internal shift linkage, which in turn caused wear on the gears. -- Russ Wolfe '71 Fastback AT '66 Fastback MT (not running yet) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
