I recently reconditioned the seats in my '69 Fastback. I am generally pleased with the fit and good replication of the stock basket-weave look. I put the new covers on just like the old covers-- no hog rings. HOWEVER, I was not at all impressed with the way TMI finished off the rear seat backrest. On the fast/notchback, the OEM cover has a piece of rigid cardboard that is sewn across the width of the seat to hold tension on the top of the backrest. But the TMI replacement came with a thin strip of plastic that would not fit properly into the backrest frame to hold the tension. A real bad joke. I ended up removing the plastic strip and replacing it with the cardboard strip from my original OEM seat cover. It took me a few evenings in front of the television to sew it on by hand with an upholstery needle and thread. It looks good now. Also, you'll want to save the wire reinforcements in your original covers and slip them into the replacement covers. I got my covers from Peninsula Automotive (or something like that). They are close to you (in Campbell I think) and their prices were very competitive (dont remember exact cost). -Mark Fuhriman ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
