Battery live goes to ignition switch and on to the fusebox, but the ignition feed isn't fused - it links to the feed side of the fusebox and goes off to the coil from there. That's why the reversing lights (also fed from that supply) have their own in-line fuse. It's on my (colour!) website wiring diagrams (any of the ones posted so far).
