Hello My 1973 Square auto, shifts hard from first to second. It also shift hard from second back down to first. Could this be the modulator valve? Are the any internal adjustments that need to be made? Or is it simply wearing out? The vehicle has 100,000 miles it has a 1970 1600 FI engine not sure if auto x-mission is original or not but assume it is. Btw it shift very smoothly from second to third and back to second from third. I have just recently changed the fluid, filter was clean as a whistle. Old fluid smelled fine and was clean and clear.
