<x-charset iso-8859-1>A little recent history on the performance is.... Last week on the way back from a 300 mile road trip teh car started bucking real bad . I was cruising about 70 -75 mph and it was getting worse. I noticed i had areal bad drop in gas mileage when i went through 3/4 tank of gas in 100 miles. I pulled over to a resturaunt and checked the points, They looked a little close togeather but not burned. In an attempt to make it home i widend the gap on the points , more thanit was sposto be but it worked and I made it home . Since the pionts were not burned I figured teh problem must be the pressure sensor . I took my only spare , which looks slightly different than the one on the car , adjusted teh points and adjusted teh timing to teh left most mark and it works. It idles smooth and has good power timed to the left most mark when it didnt before and the exaust is much quieter . I averaged 25 mpg doing 75-85 on the interstate today . Thanks for your help. ---Bryan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Adney" <jadney@vwtype3.org> To: "type3" <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Saturday, October 27, 2001 1:53 PM Subject: Re: [T3] Loud exaust and GEX > On 27 Oct 2001, at 4:15, jezzina wrote: > > > Besides all the FI problems I am having with my 71 square it makes > > this horrific sound from the exaust.
