You should first call around in your area to a few Powder Coat shops.
It really isnt all that expensive , I had all my tin ( plus a few other parts ) done for 95.00 (that included the sandblasting and prep)
I also just had all my friends type 1 tin done for only 70.00---
Powder coating is the best thing you can do for engine tin as it can withstand heat, oil , and gas ...it doens fade, crack and is really hard to chip.
Every motor i assemble now has podwer coated tin .
