The "1600L" script on the T34 is > the same as on european Notch- and Squarebacks. This is definitely true in as much as by that time VW appeared to be trying to cut down the number of unique T34 parts to a minimum. Early models had unique emblems, mirrors, switches etc. which today are incredibly rare and expensive. Later ones (like mine - thank goodness!) shared all these with the other Type 3s, the other Karmann Ghia, or even the Beetle.
