Wouldn't the current at 12V have to be half this for the efficiency to stay the same? This would mean that the 12V current should really be 15/7.5A, which is a lot less than the books all say, but much closer to what they actually appear to draw. If the 12V starters draw the same current, then they are HALF as efficient.
