Sorry for the newby questions, > any help would be greatly appreciated. Take 12V from the hot terminal of the coil. That's the terninal that the green wire to the dist is NOT connected to. Once you have the dwell (points gap) adjusted, then you have to do the timing. What year do you have? In general, the timing is set the same as any other car: just turn the dist until the right timing mark lines up with the stationary mark. In the case of the type 3 the stationary mark is the flat on the side of the stub that sticks out of the fan housing. > PS - Are there any Type 3 owners from the Minneapolis, Mn area on the > list?
