[T3] '66 fasty progress
<x-charset iso-8859-1>Well, it is 2 steps forward, and 1 step back. I replaced all the fuel lines
on the '66 today. Tried to fire up the engine, and it was a "no go". I pulled
the plugs and checked them, but they looked good. Fairly new Bosch W8AC's. A
little sooty, but OK. I replaced them anyway with W8AP's, the newer platinum
tipped plugs. It still wouldn't fire up. Up to this time, I have been just
using a coffee can back at the engine for a gas tank. With the new hoses in
place, I had put about 1 gallon of gas in the tank, and the car is sitting
level. I found that I was not getting any fuel from the tank.
I removed the gas cap, and blew backwards through the fuel line. It was
blocked. I then went to the front, and with the line still off the fuel pump,
I blew towards the engine from the tank end. It was clear. Now I tried to
blow into the tank, and could get nothing through. Even at 120 PSI!!!!!
Looks like I pull the tank tomorrow.
The good news is, while under the front, I noticed that the front brake
calipers look brand new, and the hoses look new too.
