<x-charset iso-8859-1> > your right. This "sensor", is either a spring type or actually a "timer" > that controls the airflow during engine warm up. This part is the aux. air regulator. His 68 is the spring type, and the air temp sensor is mounted on it. And yes, if this thing is not closing, idle when warm will be too high. Unplug its hose from the aircleaner when running cold. It should be sucking air (put your thumb over the hose end to test). When warm you should not feel any air being sucked in (if it's working right). David can also test the aux air regulator when the engine is running at the high RPM. There is a hose that connects the air regulator and the air manifold. Pull the hose off of the air regulator and put your thumb over the end. If the RPMs drop it is a fault air regulator. It is adjustable. Remove it and you'll see a screw in an oblong hole. Loosen the screw an move the spring in the direction that will close the valve (I forget which direction that is). Reinstall and test again. If the RPMs do not drop, David has another problem.
