[T3] shocks

I am going to put new shocks(KYB) on the front of my square, but I wonder 
what I need.  my car is lowered and I see shocks available for lowered VWs.  
Do I need these? or will basic front shocks work fine? are the shocks for 
lowered VWs for cars with adustable beam only, like type 1s?
