[T3] "Resparked"

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Hi all,
Nice to see most of the really knowledgeable T3 people are still here.
Something has recently sparked my interest in T3's again (more on that
below), so I thought I would join the list and do some lurking in the
background.

Of course I do have a big mouth and will probably throw in my 2 cents from
time to time. The regulars seem to have the T3 info covered pretty
thoroughly though. There is one place I do excel in, early 61 T3's.

Another little something that got me drooling again was recently looking at
my friends black with full red interior 66 Square. The "full" colored ( 66
red, brown, or blue) interiors have always been one of my favorites.

A little background info on me:
About 8-10 years ago I used to restore T3's for Japanese customers (and the
occasional American that was willing to pay the price the Japanese were). I
specialized in 61-67 Squarebacks and Notchbacks. I did "correct"
restorations in varying thoroughness (nice driver to every nut and bolt pan
off show only trailer queens) and the occasional mild custom (yellow
fastback on the cover of Hot VW's) or resto-custom.

I did this to fund my personal addiction to T3's. I traveled to many
different countries several times a year to look for NOS parts and to meet
with other T3 enthusiasts. It was the best time of my life and probably
always will be.

I had a 3000 sq ft shop full of used, new, and NOS T3 parts and cars. Most
of which was given to my best friend when I "got out" of T3's. For argument
sake I still call everything mine. For those of you that will ask....yes, he
still has most of it and trying to get him to part with any of it is near
impossible.

I have owned every conceivable thing you can think of for an early T3. This
was one of my major passions, to find what "couldn't" be found. Once I had
owned everything and knew "everything" (yeah right!) my passion for T3's
started to die out. I then found #54 notch and this was my burn out point.
It took 2 years and more money than it was worth to get it to California.
Once 54 was home I felt as if there was nothing else to look for. I'll
always love T3's, but just can't seem to spark that live, eat and breath
them thing anymore.

About a year ago I located #10 (With the help of THIS list!) and was
temporarily re-energized on T3's. Unfortunately it has been "put away" next
to #54 in hopes that sometime in the future I'll be motivated enough to do
them properly.

So here is the big interest sparker.....
I have heard of another very early T3 that an old friend is trying to
secure. I can't really say anything about it yet other than it is also very
early and possibly has a white steering wheel. Hint.... #10 doesn't even
have a white steering wheel. This could turn out to be just another rumor,
but at least it sparked me again.
