The problems in my case all came down to poor internal connections. These were originally riveted bus bars, but eventually they developed high resistance. I finally fluxed and soldered every one of them and got it to work again. In some cases you have to do this very quickly to limit the amount of plastic that softens and deforms. The electronic parts in there include a number of aluminum electrolytic capacitors. After all these years most of them will be dead, so replacing them may also be necessary, especially if the flasher seems to work but either too fast or too slow. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
