I have some chromed factory style 5-lug wheels that I would like to put on my 4-lug '69 square. Can anyone recommend adapters that will work or should I stay away from adapters all together? I'm a little short on cash and don't want to buy wheels right now if I don't have to but would if the recommendation is to stay away from adapters. Thanks in advance. Jim I bought a set of adapters about three years ago, for the same reason. I wanted to change to 4-lugs per wheel. The adapters were off just enough to make the wheels gyrate like a roller coaster; i.e.up and down, up and down. That cured me. I stuck with 5-lug wheels. The offset was about 3/4" as I recall, but don't hold me to it. Never was so pleased as when I went back to the 5-lug wheels. I think that I was trying to get to a wheel that I could balance, but there was no hope of balancing with the adapters on.
